When I saw Oia Epitome resort, located in Santorini, I instantly imagined spending cozy evenings tasting delicious Greek food and plunging into a private pool with the unlimited sea view. The location of this intimate luxury boutique hotel is very airy. There are no spatial restrictions as we can often see on the islands.
Canaves resort brand hired talented K-Studio designers to create a 24 room hotel. Designers immediately understood the unique opportunity they had on-site, which offered famous sunsets and immense limitless landscape views. When the team came on-site, their first task was to work with the imposing concrete and brick structure that existed on site. 24 room resort looked and disconnected from the landscape so the designers needed to find a way to blend the building into nature without downsizing it. So they decided to break it up into several smaller parts and redistribute through the site. It allowed to create multiple levels and blend within the landscape.
Just take a look at this amazing contrast between black stone, concrete, and soft plants. The great outdoor design always seeks to blend with nature.
A perfect retreat from the harsh Greek sun.
By breaking up the buildings into several parts, K-Studio created an opportunity for a characteristically Cycladic choreography of enclosed and semi-enclosed space to provide a comfortably cool lifestyle suited to the heat of the Greek summer. They connected outdoors with the indoors and maximized the indoor space without breaking up the walls.
How cute is this natural stone they put in this patio? Natural raw materials definitely play a big role in today’s modern interiors.
Would definitely love to hang out at this infinite pool and you?
Let’s explore the inside of the hotel… Designers mixed natural materials found in the island as local weave, ceramics, wood and stone in one space.
Magnificent views from the bedroom. You can choose to enjoy the sunset views from various locations – from the bed, from the bay window or from the outside. Magical!
And this indoor cave-like space with the view to the inside of the pool is definitely worth another shoutout!
Off-white walls and contrasting black lines create a minimal luxury feel at this shower room.
Love how designers approached and created bespoke elements as sliding wardrobe doors – every detail is curated and made to look and feel local.
As you can see from this last photo, all the materials used to build this hotel are 100% local and blends into nature. We wouldn’t even imagine this hotel has 24 rooms. Would you like to stay here?
