Today we are heading to the Southern Province of Sri Lanka to visit this exclusive, contemporary, raw luxury design villa resort named K-House. This modern, award-winning property was designed by AIM Architecture and Norm Architects. Steps away from the beach, this AirBnB villa is a true gem for minimalist and raw luxury lovers.
A combination of bespoke modern minimal pieces alongside other locally sourced antique furniture and accessories creates a familiar yet native atmosphere.
Designers and architects managed to blend large openings, soft transitions, and natural materials as concrete, local woods and stone to the existing exotic vegetation and Ocean view.
This villa, which is also an AirBnB in Sri Lanka, blends easily to nature because of soft indoor-outdoor transitions due to the warm and pleasant climate all year long. It is achieved by adding sliding doors, big shutters, outdoor living and dining spaces and porches on different levels.
Let’s take a tour around this beautifully designed villa together!
The beach is fantastic…right?
And this is how the villa complex looks from the bird view. K House has two individual houses – East House and West House, which form an L-shape, framing the garden and centrally placed pool area. The barn-like structure effortlessly blends into the landscape, enclosing the outdoor common areas while framing the general view towards the sea.
Here’s the outdoors before we jump to explore the interior:
The architecture is composed of natural materials; local teak wood, polished terrazzo, facades of polished cement and outdoor areas of local granite stone.
The roof is made of recycled terracotta tiles which complements the overall natural look and tactile feel of the house.
Rooms are withdrawn and private, with minimal interiors and decor, providing space to retreat to when needed. Two rooms have bathrooms opening up to private courtyards, giving you the luxurious sensation of being in nature when showering.
Can you imagine seeing this first thing you wake up?
Love green-concrete contrast. So fresh and soothing.
The common areas of both houses are clean and minimal, still using the same materials through the whole house. Just take a look at that built-in sofa!

Bathrooms and showers are open to the outdoors which, in my opinion, is quite fantastic to experience.
And some cane furniture, a well known humble material, which is becoming more and more popular these days. Love it.

So much of greenery. Love the pool area and the elegant, straight lines in the design. Pretty!
