Foodx, a food court style restaurants complex, located in downtown of Poznan, a lively city in Poland, has been completed in 2022. Gradient of pastel colours, glass bricks, neon lights, dome mirrors feature throughout the whole interior, inspired by the 1980s and 1990s. Mode:lina™ architects have created a space for street food full of bold and crazy ideas.
Upon request of the client, architects have created a project using some of the solutions from their previous projects mixing with the bold branding.
Inspiration came mostly from the menu: “served by the brands that make up the FoodX concept: Mr. Pancake Poznań, PIZZA BOYZ, Ghost Burger and Vegan Pizza Club.“, – says Paweł Garus, co-founder of mode:lina™ studio.
Design concept has been mainly inspired by bold colours, neon lights, coming straight from the 80s and 90s colourful video clips of the pop-music television. Pastel colours, running through the walls and furniture, dominate interior. Unexpected accent – chameleon-type foil used on the external windows, which evoke customers’ curiosity.
All the furniture has been custom-designed in order to create perfect 80s and 90s atmosphere. Designers have used another very popular material at that time – glass bricks – to design a bar and use some of them as a finishing piece on the walls.
Dome street mirrors is another dominating material in FoodX, “placed on the walls and ceiling, which by their multiplication enhance the aesthetic impression.” – say designers.
